The vicious REGRET cycle


We regret our decisions, mistakes, actions, judgements, etc. An average person regrets throughout the day and successfully disturbs his/her own emotional well being. - regret snoozing the alarm, skipping the exercise routine, starting late for office, checking social media in between work, missing the deadline of report submission, eating junk with tea, being late for the dinner, binge-watching a series instead of reading a book and eventually going for bed past 12.


But is the acknowledgement of fault leading us to a vicious cycle of regret? The cycle's beginning is your regret, you feel bad, then you overthink with all the WHAT IF questions which bring more regret. Thus forms a cycle.


What else to do? Make a plan and stick to it till death do us part. Unfortunately, we are humans and not robots. We will make mistakes and will regret it. That's how we are wired.


What else can be done? Admit your utter stupidity and before regret creeps in, DO THE BEST YOU CAN DO. Correction. DO THE THING YOU FEEL BEST.

PS: I did go through the regret cycle for not publishing a post straight for 2 weeks. I was done riding the cycle and here I am with this one ;)
